Existing domain & self hosting

Current setup is a self hosted NC running on a RPi (with DietPi) that works brilliantly when I’m at home. I then decided to try and access externally, which I can with NoIP but just couldn’t get https to work and so I lost out on features like Google integration and other stuff the family wanted.

I now have a domain name that has https that hosts a wordpress site and I would like a subdomain to point to my self hosted NC. I have a static IP and lets encrypt installed on the RPi so I think I have all the bits in place. Its a similar issue to this post I think

I’m unsure how to phrase the next question but I think I need to configure lets encrypt for next.example.com and do something with a/aaa(?) with the host. Am I on the right track? I’m starting to get out of my depth here and need a bit of a shove in the right direction, just don’t what the right words are to do the search thing.

Thanks

Alex

I think you can just set up a CNAME in your custom DNS to point to your chosen subdomain to your IP address and then read some Let’s Encrypt docs to figure out how to configure it for the subdomain you chose.
