Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can.

The Basics

  • Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
    • Version 31.0.2
  • Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
    • Android 8.0.0
  • Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
    • No

Summary of the issue you are facing:

When I am trying to connect to the Nextcloud server in the Talk app, I get the error “HTTP 404” in the mask for the server address. I use other Nextcloud apps with the same address and don’t face any problems.

Log entries

Can you reach the same URL from a web browser on your Android device?

Also are you specifying with https:// (or http://) or without?

It might also be informative to monitor your web server and/or reverse proxy log during a log-in attempt.

P.S. v31.0.2 is behind a few patch releases
