It seems that there are 3 encryption methods in Nextcloud:
- server-side one-key encryption for all files
- server-side per-user encryption with user’s password
- end-to-end encryption
The recommended server-side encryption (since version 13) is the one-key one which uses one key for everything and it is targeted at hosting files on third party storages.
Will the per-user encryption be deprecated or left unmaintained in the near future?
