Encrypted files after moving from personal folder to group folder

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 23.0.0

Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): Docker (Debian GNU/Linux 11)

Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): Apache/2.4.51 (Debian)

PHP version (eg, 7.4): 8.0.14

The issue you are facing:

I don’t know what happened, I realized days ago that after moving folders from my personal account to a group folder I find all the files as if they were encrypted and impossible to open. I tried to decrypt them but it is useless.

Checking on file system i see wich not exist anymore filekey and master_xxx for key. is it possible that auto deleted?

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N):Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. enable server-side encryption

  2. Create directory for user

  3. move to group folder

Do you use External storage on other servers e.g. Object Storage, SMB/CIFS, sftp, …?
If not server-side-encryption is not a security feature.
Every admin on the server can easily decrypt all data.

i’ve tried but not decrypt this file

Sorry i do not understand you.
You have server-side-encryption enabled.
Do you want to disable it?
If yes open perhaps a new thread if it not works.
If not perhaps someone can help you solving your problem.

Sometimes there is only one solution: restore a backup
