Hi!

after updating my nextcloud to nextcloud 12 i get the following message:

Dein Datenverzeichnis ist ungültig.
Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass das Datenverzeichnis auf seiner ersten Ebene eine Datei namens „.ocdata“ enthält.
Your data directory is not writable
Berechtigungen können zumeist korrigiert werden indem dem Web-Server Schreibzugriff auf das Wurzel-Verzeichnis eingeräumt wird. Siehe auch https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/12/go.php?to=admin-dir_permissions.

But at

there are no instructions about permissions?! And the Instructions found for earlyer nextcloud versions seem not up to date anymore

and add proper documentation?

The strong permissions do not exist any more because these settings are not compatible with the updater app, now everything should be owned by the webserver user. That’s also what the documentation says.

.ocdata is created during installation, so no manual steps are required.
