Distributed Memory Caching

I’m managing a nextcloud setup (13) where ‘memcache.locking’ has been configured to use Redis on two webservers. Redis is running on each webserver, but they are separate redis instances (not clustered). Is this likely to cause issues?

I’ve been reading though the documentation but can’t seem to figure out, does redis need to be clustered to use it for memcache.locking and memcache.distributed cache if you have more than one webserver?

Many Thanks, George

I’m not 100% sure (this really is a question for the support engineers who have experience with this stuff, not for a home user forum) but I do believe you need to cluster, yes.
