Disabling Versioning For Specific Folders/Folder Hierarchies

I’m using Nextcloud 15 and I have one specific folder hierarchy, where keeping versions of files does not make sense - thus I’d like to disable versioning for this hierarchy.

Is this possible and if so, how? So far I only found global settings and questions concerning to disable versioning completely, which is not what I want to do.

As that topic never got any answers and i have the same question but for NC 20, i bringt that up again.

Is there any solution to disable versioning for specific folders?
Or is there any work around for that?

i have a quick changing folder in my sync and i dont need any file versions for that folder but its using a lot of space really quick…

Just as workaround you can create a new user, e.g. noversioncontrol that will host your folder and then add to system crontab versioning clearing job. All Version for user noversioncontrol will be deleted = all versions for particular folder also.

As per https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/configuration_server/occ_command.html#versions

sudo -u www-data php occ versions:cleanup noversioncontrol
#or for Cronjob for a user www-data
@hourly php /var/www/nextcloud/occ versions:cleanup noversioncontrol
