The issue you are facing:

I wish to disable virtual drive so that I have a mirrored copy of my local files on the Nextcloud server. In this way I have a completely redundant copy and the safety that goes with it.

How to I accomplish this ?

Please upgrade your nextcloud version. Nextcloud 16 is not supported.

I think you only must install the nextcloud client software (windows, macos or linux) and configure it correctly.
