# Delete old data directory

NextCloudPi version v1.35.0  
NextCloudPi image NextCloudPi\_07-21-19  
Nextcloud version 20.0.8.1

Hi,  
i changed the data directory from the default path on the sd-card “/var/www/nextcloud/data” to a USB drive.  
i used the function in the NCP Setup.  
Every thing looks fine, but the original folder on the sd-card still exists und it takes a lot of space.

**Can I just delete it?**  
**How to delete it?**

Best to make sure first, run ncp-report to get and verify system config and logs.

You can remove any folder from the command line using

> sudo rm -rf /path/to/folder

Please note this **can**  **not** be undone, once executed, there is no way to get the folder and its content back.
