Default version of php is 8.1 but whats getting picked up by nextcloud is 7.4

I have freshly installed nextcloud 24.0.2.1
the default version on the node running nextcloud web app is 8.1 but when checking Admin > Settings > Overview I see php version being used by nextcloud is 7.4
