Default expiration shared links

Hi,

As a user of nextcloud 30, not admin, I’d like to have all my new shared links expiring in 7 days automatically. I don’t find any options in /settings/user/sharing or in /apps/files/files settings, so I have to set expiration manually.
I know it’s possible to set it as admin for every users. Is there a way to do it as user?

Thanks!

I think only the admin can set it. Read here. Path for admin is /settings/admin/sharing.

I’m not aware of such a setting nor do I know an app to add it. Afaik oOnly an admin can define it at the moment.

Thanks guys, so you confirm it’s not possible as user.
I can closed this topic. Thanks

If there is no solution, I have a small workaround if you only share the data with one person and this person should only download the data for some reason.

You can allow in the sharing option “Read” and “Delete”:

Custom permissions
Read
Create
Edit
Delete

You could also change the folder from Topic to Topic - Please select and delete everything after successful download. Then it doesn’t matter how long the share is valid.

Good to know, thanks a lot!

I want to see if it’s possible via occ user:setting, but I have to do a bit of testing; I don’t know at the moment.
