Data usage sizes mismatch in NCP webapp and NC user interface

Hi all,

my NCP webinterface shows a data usage of 50G/59G. In NC user interface “Files” there shows a total usage of 1.7G. All my data is stored locally on sdcard.
How can this mismatch be caused? Perhaps large logfiles?

Thanks for your answers!

more likely backups taking up space…
I’d check terminal output of

sudo df -h

and

sudo du -h / --max-depth=1

Once you determine which folder is taking the most space, investigate that folder further.

Not sure where ncp upgrade backups defaults to: /var/www/nextcloud or /var/www

sudo du -h /var/www/nextcloud --max-depth=1

or with ls -lh

sudo ls -lh /var/www/

If you have nc-backup-auto enabled, check the path it was set to, in NCP-web and if include data is dis/enabled.

From NCP-web, you can now manage backups

I do the following:

pi@nextcloudpi:/ $ sudo df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/root 59G 50G 6.4G 89% /
devtmpfs 460M 0 460M 0% /dev
tmpfs 464M 0 464M 0% /dev/shm
tmpfs 464M 47M 417M 11% /run
tmpfs 5.0M 4.0K 5.0M 1% /run/lock
tmpfs 464M 0 464M 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/mmcblk0p1 44M 23M 22M 51% /boot
tmpfs 93M 0 93M 0% /run/user/1000

It really shows 50G used. But when I type

pi@nextcloudpi:/ $ sudo du -h / --max-depth=1
16K /lost+found
4.0K /srv
11G /var
17M /etc

11M /bin
12K /mnt
56K /tmp
376K /home
86M /opt
8.0K /media
47M /run
0 /sys

0 /proc
0 /dev
36K /root
918M /usr
7.6M /sbin
12G /

it shows the mountpoint / as 12G.
I don’t understand that. Where could be the difference of 38G?

I think I found the problem.

Some time ago I configured my NAS mountpoint in fstab like this:

//192.168.188.1/fritz.nas/...      /media/fritznas     cifs    credentials=/home/pi/.smbcredentials,uid=1000,gid=1000,sec=ntlm,vers=1.0         0       0

There seems to be a formatting problem with the credentials file so the mountpoint was created as a folder and the backups were stored on sdcard…
