Summary of the issue you are facing:

When I log in into the nextcloud starting page on a PC, the Talk opens normally (its a longer talk with some Fotos and videos in it). I am using a group talk with 2 different users / profiles.

When I try to open the same URL / Talk using a mobile phone browser (not with the Nextcloud app) - the page hangs after login and does not show the Talk / latest versions as usual. Tested on varoius mobile phones and with both user profiles.

Whenever I change something in the settings (i.E. blur setting), the load on the mobile phone works fine but seems only once - after this it hangs again after next login.

And Ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks in advance!

yeah mobile chrome just chokes on talk if the room has a pile of photos and videos. desktop chrome is a different engine so ofc that one works. the hang after login is classic, webview tries to load the whole history and dies. use the actual nextcloud talk app on the phone, or firefox. changing a setting “fixing” it once is just the cache getting warm then it dies again next login. not just you.

good to know that it’s not just me  will the spring update help maybe? I mean even when opening the thread/talk, it would not be necessary to “feed” the client all the content at once.. I think I try then just opening a new talk and see if its different

Was that working fine before in older versions?
Generally we recommend using our mobile apps for Talk on Android and iOS. Any reason you’re using the browser ?

Yes there’s a good reason to use it that way. It was running well in earlier versions, but it may be a coincidence, because then the Talk thread was also shorter / less files in it.

Just tested: A new (empty) thread beside the others doesn’t help, it seems to want to load all content of all talks before displaying anything..

Can you share why?

leave less traces about nextcloud usage on the phone

i updated from the “winter” to the “spring” version - not sure if it was that’s why, but now it seems ok again.
