Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Hello! I have noticed that we are having a ton of issues trying to get our nextcloud server to just work for logins. Its constantly giving a 401 error when my friend is trying to access his files and when he signs out and back in it keeps showing a “Temporary error, Please try again” We have both tried clearing cookies and using incognito and nothing seems to help. This is running on the latest ubuntu OS.I tried too roll the Nextcloud version back and it worked for a day then had issues again.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Login and accessing any file or folder
  2. Login to main screen

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

  • Use the preformatted text formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
  • If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
    • If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
  • Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

Is your Nginx reverse proxy NPM by chance? If so, disable Asset caching.

I also see you’re behind on v30 maintenance releases. You may want to bump to v30.0.8 before doing too much additional troubleshooting.

It would also possibly be informative to monitor the web console output as described in the support template.

Ah I just noticed that asset caching was turned on. That could explain it. I rolled back the version so I will need to update again thank you. Let me try that.
