Client deleting local copy of files when external volume is not available

Nextcloud version: 19.0.3
Operating system and version: Debian 10
PHP version: 7.3.22

The issue you are facing:

Hey there,

I set up a LUKS container and mounted it to some point in the filesystem.

I then added the mountpoint of the container as external storage in my nextcloud, assigned it to my user and synced my files. So far everything seemed fine but i am facing one problem.

When the LUKS container is not mounted and can therefore not be accessed by the nextcloud, my client (Fedora 32) does delete all local files and acts as if nothing is stored on the nextcloud.

When I then remount the Container all the files will get synced.

What I would expect would be that the client holds onto the local copy of the files and syncs them as soon as the external storage is available again.

Is there any way i could configure it that way?
Did someone else face this problem before?

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Still I am facing this issue (with a remote sshfs mount that sometimes experiences issues)

Files from external storage should not be deleted
