I’m using a sharing-hosting service so I do not have any root access but I got FTP access.

I tried using the web updater feature within Nextcloud but I got the following error message when trying to use it:

Check for expected files

usage
logs

I can’t delete these folder because I do not have full root access and they contain useful data for my shared host provider.

Do I have any other change to update Nextcloud WITHOUT downloading the zip and updating manually?

I guess “no”. The updater is designed for a specific use-case.

I guess you can not run occ-commands as well. So you should contact your provider and inform yourself, how he can assist to be able to update.
