Support intro
When setting up the nextcloud mailclient it gives what ever I do mail errors.
config.php:
‘mail_from_address’ => ‘nextcloud’,
‘mail_smtpmode’ => ‘smtp’,
‘mail_sendmailmode’ => ‘smtp’,
‘mail_domain’ => ‘robkalmeijer.nl’,
‘mail_smtphost’ => ‘127.0.0.1’,
‘mail_smtpport’ => 25,
‘mail_smtpsecure’ => ‘’,
‘mail_send_plaintext_only’ => false,
The mailserver accepts unathenticated and none TLS at port 25. Roundcube webmailserver works fine with this setting.
Problem seems that nextcloud force STARTTLS even with the settings shown.
SMTP and HTTP are running on the same server. So HTTP-CMS clients are trusted.
Rob.

Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response
- Use the
preformatted text
formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output. - If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
- If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
- Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.
