Cant open documents using webdav

Hi i have installed nextcloud version 11 and am having issues opening office documents

for instance i have excel documents that open up fine when synced with nextcloud, but if i try and open any using webdav it gives error sorry cant open document

Your client application might not support dav(s) What document are you trying to view/open and what application are you using to access the document and with what application are you trying to view the document. What Operating system are you using.?

i also have external storage configured pointing at a fsmb share but have issues connectiong to that via webdav
