Cant log in/change password on selfhosted NC

Hello everybody,

I run Nexcloud on a Yunohost server which I set up on my raspberry pi.
Me and my partner are using it for about 4 months now and it works great.
The problem is that recently my partner could not log in to her NC account and the same happened to me a few days later when I tried to fix her issue. Then we both clicked on “forgot password” button but none of us received an reset password mail on our email service provider.

Some more context: I can still use Nextcloud from my laptop computer (files still sync). On my partners workstation sync does not work, only on her laptop.

Please help, thanks in advance

What does your nextcloud.log indicate when you’re unable to login (located in your datadirectory?

Also, please provide the output of ./occ config:list system

My wild guess is that you’re triggering brute-force protection

https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/configuration_server/bruteforce_configuration.html

Or you have fail2ban set-up:

https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/latest/admin_manual/installation/harden_server.html#setup-fail2ban

nextcloud.log says login “login failed” and a bunch of other stuff. Here is a screenshot:

I cannot locate the ./occ config:list system. Is this in nextcloud/data or somewhere else?

Thanks

You should read the documentation

about occ Using the occ command — Nextcloud latest Administration Manual latest documentation

reset through cmd line Resetting a lost admin password — Nextcloud latest Administration Manual latest documentation

also it states in your log which only shows half the text, there was a error sending the lost password email.
