Can't configure static IP address in NCP

I have a new install of NCP on a Raspberry 5. I’ve gotten it mostly configured, but am struggling with its IP address. It has been running using DHCP as I played around with configuration and file transfer.
I would like to specify a particular IP address (192.168.1.6) which is outside of my router’s assignment pool. Based on info I found on this site, I used the NCP utility ncp-config to set the IP address. I selected nc-static-ip, entered the address (192.168.1.6) and selected ‘apply’. The app spit out some status messages that said things were fine (i.e. no errors).
When I shutdown and restarted, the PI had the same old DHCP address (192.168.1.268).

I couldn’t find a config file anywhere that specified that address. Am I missing something?

Shocking
Try:

sudo armbian-config
