I’d like to use different address books in order to be able to share some of them with different people. I noticed that I can create multiple address books in Nextcloud, but at least using DAVdroid, I cannot sync more than one to my mobile device. Is that a DAVdroid restriction or an Android restriction or a Nextcloud restriction?
This is an Android restriction. See https://davdroid.bitfire.at/faq/entry/only-one-addressbook/
As a work around, you can add multiple DAVdroid accounts, and select a different address book each time.
I did not dare to connect multiple times using the same credentials.
I now set up multiple DAVdroid accounts that sync different address books, works fine for me.
One should avoid enabling calendars twice, of course.
Another workaround may be to even create a different user, e.g. for a global address book.
Thanks a lot!
