[Bug][Help] Problem after upgrade contact app on snap 12

After upgrade the contact app on nextcloud 12.0.5 to version 2.1.0 , the contact list is not there. Round colored bubbels with a black text inside is in place.

Deinstall and newe install of the app brings no solution

Anyone know that issue

Hey!

Could you try clearing your cache please?

How can I do that?
Sorry but I’m a beginner

Go to your browser settings and search the options clear cache or empty cache

ok, you mean the browse cache. I did it but ther is no solution

It looks so

What browser do you use?

Firefox 58.0.2 on OS X and Opera 50.0.2762.67 on OS X to, Firefox on Ubuntu, and IE on Win 7, all the same

Hi @ipaschalis

I don’t see the problem there. Looking very good to me, and very colorful :stuck_out_tongue:
There were some changes in version 2.0.0:

Addressbook list design improved #101

Okay, sorry! Just kidding.

Getting serious again: do you see this alignment issue only for the contacts app or can you see any other parts in Nextcloud where content is not displayed properly?

It looks like an CSS issue at the first look.
You updated the app as admin user via the web gui of your nextcloud server, right? Or was it a manual update from the github repository?

Could you check the file and folder permissions under [nextcloud directory]/apps/contacts that they match your other permissions?

Can you please open the browsers debug console (CTRL + SHIFT + K), reload the web page (CTRL + R) and look for error messages in the browser console? Please post any error messages here.

Hi schmu

thanks for your feedback. Yes I’ve updated via the web gui. I’ll check the other suggestions to morrow and send you an aswer.

So, I got this error messages

Source-Map-Fehler: request failed with status 404

The permissions of the app directory:
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Feb 8 08:03 config
drwxr-x— 12 root root 4096 Jan 21 16:35 extra-apps

But if I will change to the “extra-apps” directory, I have no permission.

It is a little bit crazy because on my server ther are more than one nextcloud directory.

You can ignore these two messages. They are benign:

This message seems serious however and you would need to look into that:

Either some data can’t be found or not be accessed. Maybe an issue with missing permissions on the folders?

Please provide the output of
ls -la
for your current and active nextcloud folder. I don’t know anything about snap (sorry), so I have no idea what your current folder is.
You can probably find out by
ls -ltr /var/snap/nextcloud
ls -ltr /var/snap/nextcloud | tail -1

It might be the folder with latest creation/ modify time.
However I would like to see the permissions for the whole folder

so, now the permissions of many folder

schluchtadmin@nextschlucht:/var/snap/nextcloud$ sudo ls -ltr
insgesamt 16
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jan 5 19:23 common
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Jan 5 19:23 5132
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Jan 5 19:23 4958
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Jan 5 19:23 4371
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Feb 8 08:04 current -> 5132

schluchtadmin@nextschlucht:/var/snap/nextcloud/5132$ sudo ls -ltr
insgesamt 24
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Jan 5 19:23 apache
drwxr-x— 2 root root 4096 Jan 5 19:24 php
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 Jan 5 19:24 nextcloud
drwxr-x— 6 root root 4096 Feb 23 14:43 mysql
drwx------ 4 root root 4096 Feb 23 14:44 certs
drwxr-x— 2 root root 4096 Feb 23 14:48 redis

schluchtadmin@nextschlucht:/var/snap/nextcloud/5132/nextcloud$ sudo ls -ltr
insgesamt 8
drwxr-x— 11 root root 4096 Feb 20 16:15 extra-apps
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Feb 23 14:43 config

schluchtadmin@nextschlucht:/var/snap/nextcloud/5132/nextcloud$ cd extra-apps
-bash: cd: extra-apps: Keine Berechtigung

Maybe the problem could be the “No Permission” to the extra-app folder?

Actually this is also not a big issue. It’s not the actual file, but rather a secondary one to help developers. So no big deal there!

@ipaschalis do you have any errors in your nextcloud log?
It’s located into your data folder.

Wher is the nextcloud data folder and whats the name of nextcloud log?

I have found the data directory , but I have no permission
schluchtadmin@nextschlucht:/$ sudo find -name nextcloud.log
schluchtadmin@nextschlucht:/$ cd /var/snap/nextcloud/common/nextcloud/data
-bash: cd: /var/snap/nextcloud/common/nextcloud/data: Keine Berechtigung

You can try to install the logreader app in the store if you want, you’ll have the ability to see the log directly in nextcloud’s settings

thanks, an allways displayed error
Error lib ResourceLocator can not find a web root (root: /var/snap/nextcloud/5132/nextcloud/extra-apps/contacts, file: index.php/css/contacts/2e6bf80f0e023764c673ec67fe29a45c-style.css, webRoot: , throw: true)

Yup, this is exactly the issue here!
A fix has been published on nextcloud 13. Could you try to upgrade?

maybe it make more sense if I make a new installation with nextcloud 13, because the current installation is a snap Version.
Is nextcloud 13 gold or still beta?

13 is our latest stable version, snap is not updated yet. see https://github.com/nextcloud/nextcloud-snap/pull/442
