Summary of the issue you are facing:

I have setup daily backups from with the AIO interface through Borg.
Backups are working but notification mails are not sent.

I have setup the SMTP server with the admin account in the administation settings.
Test message, email to new users, password reset mails are all sent without problems.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Set the automatisch backup schedule in AIO interface

  2. Set the option / tick the box: Send notifications about successful backups

  3. Let it make an automatic backup

  4. Check email

Do you get AIO update availability notifications?

I don’t know yet, I just got Nextcloud AIO installed. So no updates yet.

Though I have disabled the Notification app within the Administration Settings. Is that mandatory for receiving backup emails?

Reading the description made me believe it is not for email notifications…

I have enabled the notifications app and I do get a notification now.

I mixed things up and thought an email would be sent, but it’s a notification in the webgui.
Which I now receive.

But is there a way to receive the backup notifications per email?
The notifications for backup are sent to the administrator account on my tenant, which is not used much. Only when there are things to change etc. Not on a daily basis so receiving an email would be a much more convenient way.
