I use the Android app, a self-hosted Docker container and Cloudflare. I want a folder on my mobile phone (or its contents) to be automatically uploaded to the cloud. When I activate automatic upload for the first time, it works, but when I move new images to the folder (using the mobile phoneâs gallery app), they are not uploaded. They are displayed in the folder overview of the local folder in the Nextcloud app, but do not appear in the network folder.
What do I need to do? Can I trigger this automatically or do I need to activate something?
I have already deactivated Allu optimisation, even though the message is displayed every time. Upload only when battery is charging, etc. is also deactivated.
Thank you.
I recommend, first to deactivate âNur ĂŒber gebĂŒrenfreies WLAN hochladenâ ans please check the settings âWas tun, wenn Datei bereits vorhandenâ.
You should set âOverwrite server filesâ or âSkip uploadâ, because the default âAsk me every timeâ needs manual conflict-solution, which not directly appears on screen and leads to cancel upload after a while.
Haha, I got it. The Nextcloud app still seems to be buggy. I just had the same issue in my wifeâs Xiaomi 13T Pro.
In addition my Nextcloud 31.0.12 event log ran full of error messages like below, if upload worked from time to time:
[no app in context] Fehler: "/SofortUpload/Screenshots/Screenshot_2025-12-29-13-56-13-535_com.nextcloud.client.jpg" is locked, existing lock on file: 2 shared locks
PUT /remote.php/dav/files/**redacted**/SofortUpload/Screenshots/Screenshot_2025-12-29-13-56-13-535_com.nextcloud.client.jpg
von 87.147.225.49 von *redacted** um 29.12.2025, 14:32:45
and tried to upload each file approx 5 times.
After downgrade to app version 3.30.8 from F-Droid it worked like a charm again.
In that case take care to disable automatic update in Google Play-store as well as in F-Droid.
Unfortunatelly the F-Droid developers are not able to generate a running app since beginning of this year, which offers the download of previous versions.
In the F-Droid - forum they describe, how it works but the button to previous versions always is missing, even after first run of a brand new device only with fresh installed FDroid app with all permissions.
So I downloaded the app via browser from a apkmirror.com
I never had seen that message. Maybe it appears in the latest version only,
I always keep the pictures on my device. Since Google did some changes in the permissions of 3rd party apps, I do not know, whether âmoveâ will work again.
