Auto upload still doesn't work on Android 7?

Hi there,

First of all, sorry for yet another “auto upload doesn’t work” topic. It may very well be my fault, so apologies in advance!

I’m using Android 7.0 device with the Nextcloud app installed from F-droid, version 2.0.0RC7 (not the -dev version). Unfortunately, the auto upload feature is not working for me. I tried:

  • Rebooting the device.

  • Changing the setting “Upload only when charging” to on/off.

I’m always connected to the wifi network, so I know this is not the problem.

Any tips/advices on how to make this work? I’ve found many threads about this topic, and from what I’ve seen the bug seems to have been fixed already.

Thanks!

Hi @sergiodj,

no worries. Yes the auto upload should work (but will only upload pictures taken after auto upload has been activated). If that also doesn’t work it is best to open up an issue on Github where you reach all the developers of the app: https://github.com/nextcloud/android/issues

Please then also post if images reside on the SD card, phone/model, Android version, App version.

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply! Hm, indeed, I did a quick test here and confirmed that the auto upload works for pics taken after I enabled it. Is there any way to force the uploading of the pics I’ve taken before? Thanks!

Hi @sergiodj,
not yet, this is something which is on the roadmap for future auto upload improvements: https://github.com/nextcloud/android/issues/285

Oh, thanks for letting me know. I’ll keep an eye on this issue, then
