Auto-filter search box rejects text input and behaves as single-letter quick navigation instead

Description:

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a large spreadsheet in Collabora Online (e.g., 500 rows with a column containing many unique names/strings).

  2. Click on the Auto-filter dropdown arrow on the column header.

  3. Click inside the search/input box within the filter menu and attempt to type a full word (e.g., “chiara”).

Expected result: The search box should accept text input normally, displaying the typed string (e.g., “chiara”) and dynamically filtering the checklist below to show only items matching that criteria.

Actual result: The search box completely rejects any string input (letters are not typed/rendered inside the box). Instead, the system treats each keystroke as a “quick navigation” shortcut within the checklist box below. For instance, typing “chiara” does not write anything; it jumps to the first entry starting with ‘c’, then immediately jumps to the first entry starting with ‘h’, then ‘i’, and so on. Numerical input appears to be accepted, but letters are broken.

Environment details:

  • Platform: Nextcloud Office / Collabora Online

  • Version: CODE 25.04.11.3 (as seen in the video)

  • Component: Collabora Office Calc / Auto-filter UI

Unluckily it’s not allowed to upload a video here, but I’ve made one, if needed.
