Are backups always in UTC regardless of local TZ?

Am I reading this correctly to mean that backup specified time is always in UTC regardless of your server timezone or Nextcloud-specified timezone? Otherwise why would a specific timezone be mentioned? But then it doesn’t make sense why that specific thing is in UTC.

By entering a time below, you can enable daily backups. It will create them at the entered time in 24h format. E.g. 04:00 will create backups at 4 am UTC and 16:00 at 4 pm UTC. When creating the backup, containers will be stopped and restarted after the backup is complete.

Yes, backups are always created in UTC timezone.

Ok. So it’s not just saying to use 24h time, but the UTC timezone? Like 16:00 my timezone (CST) is 10 UTC

Yes indeed, so in that case simply enter 10:00

Thanks. Sorry, one more question “Files and folders that are mounted into Nextcloud using the external storage app are not getting backed up” this is NOT talking about the main data directory that can be outside the container specified like " --env NEXTCLOUD_DATADIR=“/home/myuser/HostedFiles”", right? I just wanna make sure.

Indeed. The Nextcloud data directory is always included in the backup.
