Android Nextcloud files app show PDF file content instead of details view

I am running Android 16 and the Android Nextcloud app version 33.1.1 on my Android phone.

I have a PDF file in my Nextcloud Files App I want to open and preview. Tapping the file name opens a details view (history, comments, activitiy, …) but does not show the actual file content of the PDF.

On an iPhone with the iOS Nextcloud app, tapping the file name previews the content of the PDF instead of opening the details view.

How can I achieve this on my Android phone to preview the content of the PDF file when tapping the filename - preferrably using the native Android pdf viewer or a built-in PDF viewer of nextcloud app.

No solution in sight? Is everyone on Android just accepting that we cannot view PDFs, or do I miss something obvious here?
