Android client: How to manually trigger photo upload?

Sometimes, the automatic photo upload in the Android app gets stuck with the message “Waiting to upload” — even though network, storage, and server status are all fine.

There seems to be no reason for the delay, but the upload just doesn’t start.

Questions:

  1. What exactly does “Waiting to upload” mean?
  2. Why does the upload sometimes get stuck?
  3. How can this be reliably avoided?
  4. Most importantly: How can I manually trigger the upload immediately, for example when I urgently need the photos on my computer?
