Android app indexes my files

Hi, I am new to Nextcloud. I tried to install the Android app to access my files on my Nextcloud instance. After installing the app, it started to search through my mobile phone folders and gather the info about photos stored anywhere in the phone.
I don’t want this feature. What I only need is the app to open files stored on the Nextcloud instance. I don’t want the app to touch any files on my mobile phone nor to upload them anywhere etc.

Is it somehow possible to disable this behavior?

Thanks
Tom

Hi @pulauten

Autoupload is disabled by default and can be enabled on a “per folder” basis. However, the app is scanning the storage of your phone for folders that include media files, so it can present them to you in the Autoupload menu. I don’t think you can disable this scan, or at least I couldn’t find a toggle in the UI to disable it.

It won’t touch your files (in terms of writing stuff), you can verify this by checking the source code.

nor to upload them anywhere etc.

As @bb77 already stated, this is disabled by default.

Maybe a plain WebDAV client is a better option for your needs?

I understand, thanks to both replies.
