i just migrated to nextcloud and i really like it.
So now i tried the Android app and activated Instant Upload. New pictures are instantly synced with the cloud, but is there an option to sync existing photos/videos or do i need to save them manually?

at this very moment there is no option available except the one you mentioned to manually upload them.
A comfortable way to to this with a click or even fully automated with a (one way) sync is on our roadmap to be added to the app but we haven’t had the time yet to implement it due to other features that need to be implemented.
