Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 21.0.2
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): OpenSuse Tumbleweed
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): Apache/2.4.48
PHP version (eg, 7.4): 7.4

The issue you are facing:
I cant seem to get external storage working on a different HDD.
I tried giving wwwrun full permissions on the disk, but nextcloud keeps giving me the red exclamation point.

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): No

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Go to external storage ( admin )
  2. Add path to HDD ( /run/media/USER/Harddrivelabel
  3. Exclamation point shown

The output of your Nextcloud log in Admin > Logging:
Couldn’t add this, too long for the post.

The output of your config.php file in /path/to/nextcloud (make sure you remove any identifiable information!):

Dont feel like posting this, it's just the default file and i'm unsure whats confidential in this file.

I’m unsure how to give the right permissions to nextcloud for it to use another HDD as data folder. I’ve tried chown and chmod on that disk for user wwwrun:www(different on opensuse? always used www-data before, new to opensuse)

I hope someone can help me out since googling doesnt get me further.
