Getting help
In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.
Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:
- Official documentation (searchable and regularly updated)
- How to topics and FAQs
- Forum search
(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).
- Nextcloud Server version - 32.0.0.13
- Operating system and version - Ubuntu 24.04.3
- Web server and version - Apache/2.4.58
- PHP version - PHP 8.3.6
I have created a custom theme in the /themes directory, and according to the documentation, I should be able to override the core/templates/layout.user.php template. To do this, I have created a file in the following path within my theme:
themes/mytheme/core/templates/layout.user.php
The theme is definitely activated, and I have cleared all caches, but none of the changes I have made to my overridden template are taking effect on the site.
Has anyone encountered this issue? Is there a reason why Nextcloud is not loading the redefined template from the theme directory? I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas on how to debug this.
