does anyone was able to specify an app password with new 2.6 client?

ummm i updated from 2.3.x to 2.6.x recently and wasnt asked for a new app-password. so it’s working with the one from 2.3.x -
so if you cant get it to run under 2.6.x try downgrading and setting up a password, the try upgrading again. as a workaround.
and whatever you do, pls be sure to have a backup taken beforehand
